A US Army-issued map of Buka Island in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, which was occupied by Japan during WWII. The map includes the northern part of Bougainville island to Buka’s southeast, as well as the Green Islands to the northeast. Civil structures like railroads and powerlines are included in addition to military outposts.
