Acquired from the collection of University of Connecticut bookbinder Amy Wertheimer (d. 1971). 76 pages. 7” x 10.25”.
Homer Martin (1836–1897), born in Albany, is renowned for his landscape paintings of Upstate New York. Art critic Frank Jewett Mather Jr. (1868–1953) presents here a biography of the artist, seeking to correct the record where earlier works got it wrong. A rare copy of a handsome limited edition.
