The Universal Sigh

The Universal Sigh was a limited run newspaper distributed in select cities worldwide in March of 2011 as a publicity stunt, promoting Radiohead’s upcoming album, The King of Limbs. Lead singer Thom Yorke himself took charge of distribution in London.
The contents include illustrations, essays, and lyrics, all connected to the upcoming album and echoing its motifs of nature, folklore, and magical realism. The promotional ephemera was received with much enthusiasm from fans—especially those prone to Radiohead conspiracy theories, which led to deep discussions of the newspaper’s and other easter eggs’ potential hidden meaning.
