The Shared Heart (1997) combines Adam Mastoon’s portrait photography with the personal narratives of young LGBTQ folks. Mastoon’s motivation for the project was born in the lonely and isolating experience of not having representation while growing up, a feeling echoed in many of the essays.
A wonderful book made extra special by its association with Judy Blume.
