The Rider first appeared in All-Story Weekly then combined with another Burroughs title in book form in 1937. Ace Book’s 1974 paperback edition was its first appearance on its own. It is a short adventure book in which a prince and a highway robber switch places.
Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875–1950) was a prolific writer of adventure books and most notably the creator of Tarzan. The illustrated cover is by Frank Frazetta (1928–2010) whose work graced the covers of many pulp paperbacks and comic books. His was a defining aesthetic for the science fiction, adventure, and fantasy genres.
